Send notifications, alerts and receipts over SMTP or HTTP. Or point a static site's contact form at rail and get submissions as email, with no backend.
Short-term file storage
Upload a file over mTLS and get back an expiring link. Put the link in the email instead of the attachment: no base64 bloat, no copy left in every mailbox.
rail sends the email, depot serves the file. The recipient gets a link that works for seven days and then answers 410 Gone.
